Description
Halpern Panama Fedora from Bailey of Hollywood is a classic Panama hat that is must-have warm weather attire. Featuring a classic 4 1/2″ grad crown and 2 1/2″ snap brim designed to bring you many years of sun protection. The Halpern is also accented with a two-tone color-blocked Japanese grosgrain band and finely woven sweatband.
A genuine Panama hat is always woven with straw from the toquilla palm grown in Ecuador. Once the toquilla straw is prepared, master craftsmen weave the straw to create the body of the hat. The weaving process can take days to months depending on the quality and fineness of the weave.
For the Halpern, the Brisa weaving method was utilized. The Brisa weave is made by crisscrossing the straw to create diamond squares throughout the entire hat. This method also allows the weaver to use a finer and thinner straw making the hat appear more polished and lighter.
After the Halpern Panama fedora body is woven in Ecuador, it is sent to the Bollman Hat Company in Adamstown, PA to be finished by their expert craftsmen. Panamas can be worn casually on tropical vacations and beaches or formally with a linen or seersucker suit.

How to measure hat size:
Place a string or tape around your head about 1/8″ above your ear, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. Basically, you need to measure your head exactly where the hat will sit. If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size.
