Atlas Vidalia Mills by Left Field NYC is crafted from a 14 oz. American made selvedge denim. This is the replacement for our top-selling Cone White Oak version which is no longer available since the closure of the Cone White Oak mill in 2019. Available in the Atlas, a relaxed tapered fit with a roomy top block and tapered leg opening.
A new generation in American selvedge denim production is showcased in the Atlas Vidalia Mills 14 oz. selvedge jeans. Vidalia Mills of Vidalia, Louisiana is the first American mill producing selvedge denim since the now-shuttered Cone White Oak mill of Greensboro, North Carolina turned on their looms over 100 years ago. The new Vidalia selvedge has some strong roots in denim manufacturing.
Most of their denim is woven on the old x3 Draper looms once owned and operated by the Cone White Oak mill. In fact, Vidalia Mills bought 45 Draper looms to convert their e3 certified sustainable cotton into glorious USA made selvedge denim. VM formed a partnership with BASF Agriculture Services to produce eco-friendly cotton.
All e3 (socially equitable, economically viable, and environmentally friendly) cotton starts with certified FiberMax® and authentic Stoneville® cotton seed that can be traced from the American farmer to the gin and right through to the merchant, mills, and retailer. This way, the end consumer will know exactly what their clothing is made of, how they are made, and where the cotton comes from.
