X075 Spikes by Railcar Fine Goods are a slim tapered fit crafted from Railcar’s own 14.5 oz. dark textured selvedge denim. A mid to heavyweight denim inspired by the Southeast Asian denim community and their love for selvedge denim. The X075’s stunning fabric starts out rigid but gets softer as you break them in.
This slubby denim also features a cross-hatch pattern on the surface due to the uneven yarns used in both the warp and weft directions. The warp is a classic indigo while the weft is left in it’s natural white state. These have a heavy surface texture therefore you’ll achieve high contrast fades.
Railcar’s popular slim-tapered ‘Spikes’ fit is used for this classic five-pocket style. Hidden back pocket rivets and a classic red-lined selvedge ID are also implemented. In addition, the hem and waistband are perfectly chain-stitched with classic brown/orange jeans thread.
The flat-felled inseam firstly adds durability and secondly, keeps the interior from fraying. All Railcar denim styles feature a double-layered waistband, therefore reducing shrinkage at the waistline. A 10 oz. branded veg-tan leather patch at the back of the waistband, in other words, the X075 Spikes are an exceptional pair of jeans.
During the break-in period, expect to see irregular, high-contrast, and cross-hatch patterned fades appear because of this slubby denim. Crocking (dye bleeding) will also occur due to the heavy amount of dye used in the fabric. A break-in period of 4 to 6 months is highly recommended before the first wash to get optimal fades and a proper fit. The X075 Spikes will literally mold to you.
